Guest book

Here is what some of our previous guests have said about the Gite:
"We had a great holiday here with our two grandchildren (aged 10 and 6) and would highly recommend this gite to others, especially families with kids who can already swim.

The accommodation is comfortable, our hosts were always helpful and friendly, and the garden Is just great for kids ( especially the trampoline and table-tennis table) and has a lovely outlook.

The heated pool is a real asset, and having had experiences with freezing 'solar heated' pools elsewhere in France we'd say that any family who want to enjoy regular/daily swimming as part of their holiday will love this place: the pool is big enough for a 'decent' swim and it really is warm!

In addition, and although the location itself is very quiet and peaceful, this gite is ideally placed (15 minutes or so from the motorway at Castelnaudary), if you want to get around this area of France, and there are plenty of options to choose from. We ended up going to the Med coast more often than we planned to (just over a hours drive away) and ended up doing only half of what we originally intended to - and at the end of a day out the kids headed straight for the pool.

We would go back in a flash, and hope to next year! "
Gordon T. - Glasgow.
"This is a lovely gite. It is comfortable and well equipped. The outside space is fantastic with well kept gardens, a great play area and the swimming pool is a real sun trap. The views over sunflower fields are fantastic and the gite is situated in very peaceful countryside. Time spent in the evening cooking on the BBQ with a glass of cold rose and enjoying the evening sun and the views made this one of the best holidays I have ever had.

The gite may be quiet but within 10 minutes drive are supermarkets, the lake at St Ferreol, and Revel, which is a lovely little market town. It is also a comfortable distance to get to Toulouse and Carcasonne. For those with children, also accessible is a fantastic swim centre at Castres, and a high wire place is also nearby for those with a head for heights.

Jo and Nick are welcoming hosts who are discreet but friendly and available for advice about where to go and what to do. I would definitely recommend this gite and we would be very happy to go back next year."
Janette M. - Shrewsbury
"We spent a fantastic 2 weeks at the gite and would thoroughly recommend this property. The facilities at the property are great especially for those with children. The pool is lovely - large and clean. The other facilities were exactly as described. The gite itself is larger than it looks on the photographs and is clean and well maintained. The owners of the property were very pleasant and helpful.

The area is lovely with plenty to see and do for all ages. It is really worth exploring the area as you have the coast, the Pyrenees and lots of history and lovely countryside all within reach. Carcasonne is a must see and the lake that is only 5km away is great for walking, swimming and other activities. Our children also enjoyed the dinosaur museum at Esperaza. If we were to go again we would definitely drive down and take bikes as there were lots of lovely cycle paths by the canal du midi which runs all over the region. The area is rural and unspoilt and not at all overrun with tourists. It is a good place for a very relaxing French holiday. "
Nick & Alison - Potto, North Yorkshire
"Lovely gite with excellent pool. Location excellent and we enjoyed the Canal du Midi museum gardens, Carcassonne, the dinosaur museum at Esperaza near Limoux and the water slides just outside Castres."
John Tothill - Hove
"Comfortable accommodation in a beautiful spot. With lovely views. France at its best. We've been really relaxed and lived as the french do - we'll be coming back. Thank you or should we say merci beaucoup!"
Fred & Gladys Amos - Bristol
"A delightful gite in a rural setting. Revel and castelnaudary well worth a visit, especially the saturday market at Revel. Recommend cycling along the towpath along the canal du midi, with lunch at bram. Good walks from soreze into the lower reaches of the montagne noire. The villages of durfort & saissac worth exploring."
Gill & Kris Scheinkonig - Matlock, Derbyshire
